“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.”
– John Muir ( John of the Mountains)
Due to diversity of its mountains and climate, Iran hosts different types of vegetation. Up to 7300 tracheophytes species are known across the iranian plateau, with minority of 24 % endemic to the land, which is of great interest to botanists around the globe.
However, the geographical extent of urbanism has not only alienated humans from nature and its beauty, but furthermore encompasses inadvertent damage to ecosystems, which results gradually in loss of their biodiversity. What is seemingly only ruining the ecosystem diversity, could put an end to human life on planet earth. The endemic Collection 1, attempts to provide insights into iranian nature (iran’s ecosystems biodiversity) and vegetation (flora) in mountains struggling to remain in the life cycle. The presented species are predominantly from mountains ecosystem, endangered with extinction due to global warming, urbanism, overgrazing and human interaction.
